Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 in a high Garden, 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 My wealth has been of no use to me. 28 I am bereft of power." 29 [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
