The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and gently take it away; 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 and gathered his people together 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
