The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 who observe Zakah; 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 Such are the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 Indeed We created man from a chosen soil. 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 Then We created of the drop, a clot (of congealed blood) and We created the clot into bitesize tissue, then We created the bitesize tissue into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it an other creation. Blessed is Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then after that you will most surely die. 15 Then will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat. 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
