And said the chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people and belied the meeting of the Hereafter and whom We had luxuriated in the life of the world: this is no other than a human being like unto you; he eateth of that whereof ye eat, and he drinketh of that which ye drink. 33 “If you were to obey a human like yourselves, then surely you are losers!” 34 Does he give you a promise that when you are dead and turned to dust and bones, you will be raised to life again? 35 ۞ What you are promised is indeed far-fetched. 36 Life is not but our worldly life - we die and live, but we will not be resurrected. 37 He is not but a man who has invented a lie about Allah, and we will not believe him." 38 He said: O my Lord! help me against their calling me a liar. 39 [Allah] said, "After a little, they will surely become regretful." 40 So they were rightly seized by a mighty blast; and We turned them into mouldy rubbish: A good riddance of the wicked people! 41 AND AFTER them We gave rise to new generations: 42 No nation can anticipate their term, nor can they delay it. 43 Then We sent Our apostles one after another; whenever there came to a people their apostle, they called him a liar, so We made some of them follow others and We made them stories; so away with a people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and a manifest authority 45 Unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they scorned (them) and they were despotic folk. 46 And they said: Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves, and whose folk are servile unto us? 47 So they rejected them and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And certainly We gave Musa the Book that they may follow a right direction. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Prophet Eisa) and his mother a sign, and We gave them shelter on a height, a place to stay and visible springs. 50
