But as for anyone who chooses to remain blind to the remembrance of the Most Gracious, to him We assign an [enduring] evil impulse, to become his other self: 36 Satan will prevent them from the right path while they think that they have the right guidance. 37 And when he comes before Us, he shall say: 'Would that there had been between me and you, the distance of the two Easts' Evil is the companion. 38 (He will then be told): “Today it will not benefit you the least that after your wrong-doing you and your satans now share the chastisement.” 39 Can you (O Muhammad SAW) make the deaf to hear, or can you guide the blind or him who is in manifest error? 40 We shall revenge them either after your death 41 or We show you a part of that which We have promised them, for indeed We have power over them. 42 Therefore hold fast to what We have divinely revealed to you; indeed you are upon the Straight Path. (The Holy Prophets can never go astray). 43 And verily, this (the Quran) is indeed a Reminder for you (O Muhammad SAW) and your people (Quraish people, or your followers), and you will be questioned (about it). 44 And ask thou Our apostles whom We sent before thee: appointed We gods, beside the Compassionate, to be worshipped? 45
