The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and those that blow gently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
