And slay not your children for fear of poverty; We will provide for you and them; surely the slaying of them is a grievous sin. 31 And do not commit adultery - for, behold, it is an abomination and an evil way. 32 And do not take a life, which God has forbidden, except in a just cause. We have given the right (of redress) to the heir of the person who is killed, but he should not exceed the limits (of justice) by slaying (the killer), for he will be judged (by the same law). 33 And do not approach the property of the orphan save in the fairest manner, until he is of age. And fulfil the covenant; surely the covenant shall be questioned of. 34 And fill up the measure when you measure, and weigh with the straight balance; that is better and fairer in the issue. 35 Do not follow that of which you have no knowledge. Verily the ear, the eye, the heart, each will be questioned. 36 And do not strut about the land with insolence: Surely you cannot cleave the earth, nor attain the height of mountains in stature. 37 All these are evil and odious to your Lord. 38 That is from what your Lord has revealed to you, [O Muhammad], of wisdom. And, [O mankind], do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity, lest you be thrown into Hell, blamed and banished. 39 Has your Lord chosen sons for you, and created daughters for Himself from among the angels? Indeed you utter a profound word! 40
