The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 and guard their private parts 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 And they who carefully maintain their prayers - 9 It is they, they who shall be the inheritors 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 And then you will certainly die, 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 We have created seven heavens above you and have never been neglectful to Our Creation. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palm and vines; for you therein are fruits many, and thereof ye eat. 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
