Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
