Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you 2 That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me: 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 He said: my Lord! Verily I have called my people night and day. 5 but my pleas have only increased their aversion. 6 And every time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears and wrapped up their faces with their garments and obstinately clung to their attitude, and waxed very proud. 7 I called to them clearly, 8 And declared to them in public and in private, 9 “I therefore told them, ‘Seek forgiveness from your Lord; He is indeed Most Forgiving.’ 10 "'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 rain from the sky, 12 "'What is the matter with you, that ye place not your hope for kindness and long-suffering in Allah,- 13 He has created you by stages! 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 And made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp? 16 Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 how He will then return you to it and bring you forth again, 18 And Allah has made for you the earth a wide expanse, 19 "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'" 20
