The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 Have you seen him who forbids 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.
