Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
