Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 In what other lore after this will they then believe? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
