Consider not that Allah is unaware of that which the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, etc.) do, but He gives them respite up to a Day when the eyes will stare in horror. 42 when they shall run with necks outstretched and heads erect, their glances never returned on themselves, their hearts void. 43 And warn (O Muhammad SAW) mankind of the Day when the torment will come unto them; then the wrong-doers will say: "Our Lord! Respite us for a little while, we will answer Your Call and follow the Messengers!" (It will be said): "Had you not sworn aforetime that you would not leave (the world for the Hereafter). 44 You lived in the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, even though it was made clear to you how We dealt with them. We also showed you examples." 45 And of a surety they plotted their plot, and with Allah was their plot, though their plot was such as to remove thereby mountains. 46 So do not deem that God will fail in His promise to His Messengers; surely God is All-mighty, Vengeful. 47 Upon the day the earth shall be changed to other than the earth, and the heavens and they sally forth unto God, the One, the Omnipotent. 48 Thou wilt see the guilty on that day linked together in chains, 49 Their shirts made of pitch and the fire covering their faces 50 That Allah may requite each soul according to that which he hath earned: verily Allah is swift in reckoning. 51 This is a message to be delivered to mankind so that they may be warned by it, and know that He is (Allah) One God, and so all those possessed of minds may remember. 52
