Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 A revelation from the most benevolent, ever-merciful, 2 A Book of which the verses are made plain, an Arabic Quran for a people who know: 3 good tidings to bear, and warning, but most of them have turned away, and do not give ear. 4 And they say: "Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way)." 5 Say, "I am only a human being like yourselves. It has been revealed to me that your God is One God. So take the straight path to Him and ask His forgiveness." Woe to those who associate others with Him, 6 (To) those who do not give poor-rate and they are unbelievers in the hereafter. 7 "The ones who believe and perform good deeds shall have a reward which will never be withheld from them." 8
