WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 towards thee on the right hand and on the left hand in knots? 37 Does every one of them wish to enter the garden of tranquility? 38 By no means! They know that which We have created them from. 39 But nay! I call to witness the Lord of the Easts and the Wests, that We have the power 40 to replace them with [people] better than they are; for there is nothing to prevent Us [from doing what We will]. 41 So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised - 42 the Day when they shall come forth in haste from their graves, as if racing towards a goal-post, 43 Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. That is the Day which they had been promised. 44
