The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
