(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 'and do Thou ease for me my task. 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 "That they understand my speech, 28 and appoint for me, out of my kinsfolk, one who will help me to bear my burden: 29 Aaron my brother 30 Increase through him my strength 31 And associate him (with me) in my affair, 32 "That we may celebrate Thy praise without stint, 33 And remember you a great deal. 34 "For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us." 35 Said He: "Thou art granted all that thou hast asked for, O Moses! 36 It is the second time that We have bestowed upon you Our favor. 37 when We revealed what was revealed unto thy mother: 38 [Saying], 'Cast him into the chest and cast it into the river, and the river will throw it onto the bank; there will take him an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.' And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye. 39 "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses! 40 And I have chosen you for Myself: 41 So go forth, both you and your brother, with My Signs, and do not slacken in remembering Me. 42 Go both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds, 43 "But speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear (Allah)." 44 They said: "O our Lord, we are really frightened lest he behave insolently with us or become violent." 45 He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing. 46 "So go you both to him, and say: 'Verily, we are Messengers of your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with us, and torment them not; indeed, we have come with a sign from your Lord! And peace will be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 for, behold, it has been revealed to us that [in the life to come] suffering shall befall all who give the lie to the truth and turn away [from it]!"' 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 Musa said: our Lord is He who vouchsafed unto everything its creation, then guided it. 50 (The Pharaoh) said: "And what about the former generations?" 51 He replied: "The knowledge of that is with my Lord, duly recorded: my Lord never errs, nor forgets,- 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason. 54
