And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 And there We made gardens of palms and vines, and in it We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 that they might eat of its fruits. It was not their hands that made them. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Exaltations to Him who created pairs of all the things the earth produces and of themselves, and that of which they have no knowledge. 36 And a sign for them is the night, We withdraw therefrom the day, and behold, they are in darkness. 37 And [they have a sign in] the sun: it runs in an orbit of its own [and] that is laid down by the will of the Almighty, the All-Knowing; 38 how We ordained the moon to pass through certain phases until it seems eventually to be like a bent twig; 39 It is not for the sun to catch up with the moon, nor does the night surpass the day; and each one of them floats in its orbit. 40 That We bore their progeny in the laden ark is a sign for them; 41 And have created for them of the like thereof whereon they ride. 42 and if We will, We drown them, then none have they to cry to, neither are they delivered, 43 except Our mercy which could enable them to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 44 And when it is said to them, 'Fear what is before you and what is behind you; haply you will find mercy' -- 45 yet never any sign of the signs of their Lord comes to them, but they are turning away from it. 46 And when it is said to them: Spend out of what Allah has given you, those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Shall we feed him whom, if Allah please, He could feed? You are in naught but clear error. 47 And they say: When will this threat come to pass, if you are truthful? 48 They will not have to wait long. When the Day of Judgment comes, it will only take a single blast of sound to strike them while they are quarrelling with one another. 49 And they will not be able to make a disposition, nor to their family they return. 50
