So did you observe him who turned away? 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
