Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 you pay attention 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
