Then said he who believed, 'My people, follow me, and I will guide you in the way of rectitude. 38 My people, this worldly life is only the means (to an end), but the life hereafter will be the everlasting abode. 39 "He that works evil will not be requited but by the like thereof: and he that works a righteous deed - whether man or woman - and is a Believer- such will enter the Garden (of Bliss): Therein will they have abundance without measure. 40 ۞ My people, how is it that I call you to salvation while you call me to the Fire; 41 You call upon me to deny God and to serve other deities about which I have no knowledge, while I call you to the Almighty, the Forgiver. 42 "There is no doubt that what you summon me to is something that has no claim to being invoked either in this world or in the life to come - as [there is no doubt] that unto God is our return, and that they who have wasted their own selves shall find themselves in the fire: 43 "Soon will ye remember what I say to you (now), My (own) affair I commit to Allah: for Allah (ever) watches over His Servants." 44 So God preserved him from the evil they were planning; and a dreadful doom encompassed the people of Pharaoh: 45 They are exposed to the Fire every morning and evening; and when the Last Hour will come to pass, a command shall be given: “Admit the Pharaonites to an even more severe chastisement.” 46 And when they wrangle in the Fire, the weak say unto those who were proud: Lo! we were a following unto you; will ye therefor rid us of a portion of the Fire? 47 Those who were proud will say, “We are all in the fire – indeed Allah has already passed the judgement among the bondmen.” 48 And those who are in the Fire will say to the keepers of Gehenna, 'Call on your Lord, to lighten for us one day of the chastisement!' 49 They will say, "Did there not come to you your messengers with clear proofs?" They will say, "Yes." They will reply, "Then supplicate [yourselves], but the supplication of the disbelievers is not except in error." 50
