Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 Thamud, 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
