By no means! By the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 about the sinners. 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
