I told them, "Messengers, eat from the pure things and act righteously; I know all that you do. 51 Your religion is but one religion -- and I am your only Lord, therefore, fear Me. 52 Yet they have split their affairs between themselves into sects, each rejoicing in what it has. 53 So leave them in their confusion for a time. 54 Do they think that by what We aid them with of wealth and children, 55 We are busy lavishing on them all kinds of good? Nay, they do not perceive the reality of the matter. 56 Surely they who from fear of their Lord are cautious, 57 Those who believe in the Signs of their Lord; 58 who associate none with their Lord in His Divinity, 59 and those who give to others what has been bestowed upon them with their hearts trembling at the thought that they must return to their Lord; 60 those, hasten in good works, outracing to them. 61 We charge not any soul save to its capacity, and with Us is a Book speaking truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do,- 63 Until when We lay hold of the luxuriant ones of them with the torment, and lo! then they are imploring! 64 Cry not for succor this day; surely you shall not be given help from Us. 65 Our revelations had certainly been recited to you, but you turned your backs to them 66 In scorn thereof. Nightly did ye rave together. 67 Have they not pondered the Word, or hath that come unto them which came not unto their fathers of old? 68 Or do they not recognise their Messenger, that they deny him? 69 Do they say he is possessed? Rather he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse to the truth. 70 And had the Truth followed their desires, then indeed the heavens and the earth and all those who are in them would be destroyed; in fact We brought to them a thing in which lay their repute, so they are turned away from their own repute. 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 And indeed you call them to the Straight Path. 73 but those who disbelieve the life hereafter deviate from the right path. 74 ۞ And if We show mercy to them and remove the distress they have, they would persist in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on. 75 We struck them with torment, but they did not submit themselves to their Lord, nor did they make themselves humble 76 until We open before them a gate of harsh punishment and then they will be dumbfounded. 77
