There is a sign for them in the lifeless earth. We revive it and We produce grain from it of which they eat. 33 And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein: 34 so that they may eat its fruit, though it was not their hands that made this. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip it of the day and lo, they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runneth on unto a resting-place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise. 38 how We ordained the moon to pass through certain phases until it seems eventually to be like a bent twig; 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 41 And We created for them from the likes of it that which they ride. 42 Should We so wish, We can drown them, and there will be none to heed their cries of distress, nor will they be rescued. 43 except Our mercy which could enable them to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 44 Whenever they are told to guard themselves against sin and the forth coming torment so that perhaps they could receive mercy 45 Yet there never comes to them any sign of their Lord's signs, but they turn away from it. 46 When they are told: "Spend of what God has given you," the unbelievers say to those who believe: "Why should we feed those whom God should have fed if He pleased?" You are only in palpable error. 47 They say, "When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?" 48 They await just one scream, which will overcome them while they are involved in worldly disputes. 49 They will have no time to make a will, nor shall they return to their own people. 50

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
