۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment); 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!" 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 So then, [if it be true that] we have caused you to err grievously - behold, we ourselves had been lost in grievous error!" 32 So all of them on that day are sharers in the chastisement. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 For when it was said to them: 'There is no god except Allah' they were always proud 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 For them is a Sustenance determined, 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 In gardens of delight, 43 upon couches, set face to face, 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 [And] he adds: "Would you like to look [and see him]?" 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 Are we not then to die 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 and its fruits are like devils' heads. 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 Then their return will be to the same blazing Hell. 68 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
