And there certainly came to the people of Pharaoh warning. 41 but they rejected all Our miracles. So We seized them in the way that a Majestic and All-powerful One would. 42 Are your disbelievers (O Quraish!) better than these [nations of Nuh (Noah), Lout (Lot), Salih (Saleh), and the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), etc., who were destroyed]? Or have you an immunity (against Our Torment) in the Divine Scriptures? 43 Or do they say: We are a host allied together to help each other? 44 Soon shall this legion be routed and shall turn their backs and flee. 45 In fact their promise is upon the Last Day – and the Last Day is very severe and very bitter! 46 Indeed, the criminals are in error and madness. 47 On the Day when they are dragged on their faces into the Fire, (it will be said to them): 'Taste the touch of the Scorching' 48 Surely We have created everything in measure. 49 And Our Order is but one word like the flashing of an eye. 50 We destroyed many people like you (disbelievers) but is there anyone who would take heed (of Our warning)? 51 And everything they have done is in the writings. 52 And everything small and great is written down. 53 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Rivers, 54 At the still centre in the proximity of the King all-powerful. 55
