Is it not an indication to those who inherit the land after its people (who thus reaped the consequence of evil-doing) that, if We will, We can smite them for their sins and print upon their hearts so that they hear not? 100 Such were the townships. We relate some tidings of them unto thee (Muhammad). Their messengers verily came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but they could not believe because they had before denied. Thus doth Allah print upon the hearts of disbelievers (that they hear not). 101 We did not find many of them faithful to their promises, and found many of them disobedient. 102 After those We sent forth Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his assembly, but with it they harmed. Look at the end of the corrupters. 103 And Moses said: 'O Pharaoh! I am a Messenger from the Lord of the universe. 104 "Proper it is for me that I say nothing concerning Allah but the truth. Indeed I have come unto you from your Lord with a clear proof. So let the Children of Israel depart along with me." 105 [Pharaoh] said, "If you come with a sign, then produce it, if you are telling the truth." 106 At this Moses threw down his staff, and lo, it became a live serpent. 107 Then he uncovered his hand and it appeared sheer white to the onlookers. 108
