In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 storming tempestuously 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 till a known term decreed? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
