The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
