Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 This (Qur’an) is sent down from the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 2 a divine writ, the messages whereof have been clearly spelled out as a discourse in the Arabic tongue for people of [innate] knowledge, 3 As a giver of good tidings and a warner; but most of them turn away, so they do not hear. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 Say: 'I am only a mortal, like you are. To me it has been revealed that your God is One God; so go straight with Him, and ask for His forgiveness; and woe to the idolaters 6 Those who do not give zakah, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers. 7 For those who believe and do good works is an enduring wage' 8
