The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
