AND LO! [In the course of his wanderings,] Moses said to his servant: "I shall not give up until I reach the junction of the two seas, even if I [have to] spend untold years [in my quest]!" 60 When they reached the confluence they forgot the fish (they had brought as food) which swiftly made its way into the sea. 61 And when the twain had passed by, he said unto his page: bring us our morning-meal, assuredly we have met from this journey of ours, toil 62 He replied: "Sawest thou (what happened) when we betook ourselves to the rock? I did indeed forget (about) the Fish: none but Satan made me forget to tell (you) about it: it took its course through the sea in a marvellous way!" 63 Moses said: "That was what we were seeking after:" So they went back on their footsteps, following (the path they had come). 64 and found one of Our servants, on whom We had bestowed grace from Ourselves and unto whom We had imparted knowledge [issuing] from Ourselves. 65 Moses said to him: "May I follow thee, on the footing that thou teach me something of the (Higher) Truth which thou hast been taught?" 66 He said: Lo! thou canst not bear with me. 67 For how can you patiently bear with something you cannot encompass in your knowledge?" 68 "You will find me patient if God wills," said Moses; "and I will not disobey you in any thing." 69 He (Khidr) said: "Then, if you follow me, ask me not about anything till I myself mention it to you." 70
