T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta Ha. 1 We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed, 2 but as a reminder to he who fears. 3 It is a sending down from Him who has created the earth, and the high heavens, 4 the Merciful willed to the Throne. 5 To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and whatever lies in between them, and all that lies under the ground. 6 If you speak loudly; He has indeed knowledge of the secret and the hidden. 7 Allah! no God there is but he! His are the names excellent. 8 Has the story of Moses come to you? 9 When he saw fire, he said to his family: Stop, for surely I see a fire, haply I may bring to you therefrom a live coal or find a guidance at the fire. 10 So when he came to it, a voice was uttered: O Musa: 11 "O Moses, I am verily your Lord, so take off your shoes, for you are in the holy plain of Towa. 12 “And I have chosen you, therefore listen carefully to what is divinely revealed to you.” 13 I am God, and there is no god but I, so serve Me, and observe acts of prayer to remember Me. 14 The Hour of Resurrection is coming. I have willed to keep the time of its coming hidden so that everyone may be recompensed in accordance with his effort. 15 “Therefore never let one, who does not accept faith in it and follows his own desires, prevent you from accepting this, so then you become ruined.” 16 “And what is this in your right hand, O Moosa?” 17 "It's my staff," he answered; "I lean on it, and fell leaves for my goats with it, and I have other uses for it." 18 The Lord said, "Moses, throw it on the ground". 19 So he threw it down, and all of a sudden, it turned into a fast-moving serpent. 20 God said, "Take hold of it, and have no fear: We shall return it to its former state. 21 "Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,- 22 for We shall show you some of Our greatest Signs. 23 And go to Pharaoh now for he has transgressed all bounds." 24
