And assuredly We have created human being from ringing clay of loam moulded. 26 and the jinn created We before of fire flaming. 27 And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man (Adam) from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 28 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 29 then the angels all prostrated themselves together. 30 save Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 He said: 'iblis, what is the matter with you, that you do you not prostrate yourself' 32 He said it was not for me that I should prostrate myself unto a human being whom Thou hast created from ringing clay of loam moulded. 33 (Allah) said: "Then, get out from here, for verily, you are Rajim (an outcast or a cursed one)." [Tafsir At-Tabari] 34 And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense." 35 He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. 36 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 37 Till the Day of appointed time. 38 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. 39 except for Your chosen servants." 40 Said Allah, “This path* leads straight towards Me.” (* The path of the chosen bondmen.) 41 verily, thou shalt have no power over My creatures - unless it be such as are [already] lost in grievous error and follow thee [of their own will]: 42 Surely, Hell is the place to which they are destined, 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44
