Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 So they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
