So We saved the children of Israel from degrading suffering 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. 33 Most surely these do say: 34 "There is no dying for us but once; and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!' 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 We did not idly create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them; 38 none of this have We created without [an inner] truth: but most of them understand it not. 39 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] is the term appointed for all of them: 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 Save those on whom Allah will have mercy. Verily He! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
