[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 And make my mission easy. 26 And loose a knot from my tongue. 27 so that they might fully understand my speech, 28 Appoint for me a henchman from my folk, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 "Add to my strength through him, 31 and let him share my task, 32 "That we may glorify You much, 33 And may make mention of Thee oft. 34 Verily Thou! Thou art of us ever a Beholder. 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 And certainly We bestowed on you a favor at another time; 37 when We revealed what was to be made known to your mother, 38 saying: "Put him in the box and cast it into the river. The river will cast him on to the bank, and he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his." I lavished My Love on you, and to be formed in My Sight. 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 “And I created you especially for Myself.” 41 Go with My signs, you and your brother, and do not be lax in remembering Me. 42 go forth, both of you, unto Pharaoh: for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of equity! 43 Then speak to him a gentle word haply he may mind or fear. 44 'O our Lord,' said Moses and Aaron, 'truly we fear he may exceed against us, or wax insolent.' 45 He said: "Have no fear. I am with you, hearing and seeing all. 46 So go you both to him and say: Surely we are two apostles of your Lord; therefore send the children of Israel with us and do not torment them! Indeed we have brought to you a communication from your Lord, and peace is on him who follows the guidance; 47 it has been revealed to us that punishment shall overtake him who rejects it and turns away!'" 48 Said Firaun, “So who is the Lord of you both, O Moosa?” 49 He said, “Our Lord is One Who gave everything its proper shape, then showed the path.” 50 Pharaoh asked, "What about the previous generations?" 51 [Musa (Moses)] said: "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord, in a Record. My Lord is neither unaware nor He forgets, " 52 HE IT IS who has made the earth a cradle for you, and has traced out for you ways [of livelihood] thereon, and [who] sends down waters from the sky: and by this means We bring forth various kinds of plants. 53 (Saying): Eat ye and feed your cattle. Lo! herein verily are portents for men of thought. 54
