And a sign unto them is the dead land. We quicken it and thereout We bring forth grain, so that thereof they eat. 33 We have placed in it gardens of date palms and vines, and caused springs to gush [forth] from it, 34 That they may eat of His fruit. And their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful? 35 Purity is to Him Who created all pairs, from what the earth grows, and of themselves, and from the things they do not know. 36 And [of Our sway over all that exists] they have a sign in the night: We withdraw from it the [light of] day - and lo! they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs its course for its final destination; this is a command of the Almighty, the All Knowing. 38 And We have appointed positions for the moon till it returns like an old branch of the date palm. 39 Neither is it allowable to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere. 40 And a sign for them is that We lodged them in a laden ship, while they were in their forefathers backs. 41 And We have created for them the like of it in which they board. 42 Had We wanted, We could have drowned them and nothing would have been able to help or rescue them 43 Except by way of Mercy from Us, and by way of (world) convenience (to serve them) for a time. 44 When they are told, "guard yourselves against what is before you and what is behind you, in order that you may be shown mercy," [they turn away]. 45 And never came an Ayah from among the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it. 46 and when they are told, "Give to others out of what God has provided for you," those who are bent on denying the truth say to the believers, "Why should we feed those whom God could feed if He wanted? You are clearly in error!" 47 And they say: When will this promise be fulfilled, if ye are truthful? 48 They are only waiting for a single blast that will seize them, but they will go on contending. 49 Then they will be unable to make a will, nor shall they return to their kinsmen. 50
