The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
