Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his people (and directed him): “Warn your people before a grievous chastisement comes upon them.” 1 He said, “O my people! I am indeed a Herald of clear warnings to you.” 2 That you should worship God and fear Him, and follow me 3 so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!" 4 He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day. 5 but the more I called, the farther they fled. 6 "And verily! Every time I called unto them that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, and persisted (in their refusal), and magnified themselves in pride. 7 And lo! I have called unto them aloud, 8 and preached to them in public, and also addressed them in secret. 9 “I therefore told them, ‘Seek forgiveness from your Lord; He is indeed Most Forgiving.’ 10 He will send down abundant rain from the sky for you, 11 And help you with wealth and sons, and make for you gardens, and make for you rivers. 12 strengthen you by (providing) you wealth and children, and make gardens and streams for you. What is the matter with you that you are not afraid of the greatness of God 13 when He has created you in stages? 14 ‘Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens atop each other?’ 15 and has placed the moon in them as a light, and the sun as a radiant lamp? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth so wondrously, 17 Then He returns you to it, then will He bring you forth a (new) bringing forth: 18 And Allah has made for you the earth wide spread (an expanse). 19 That ye may thread the valley-ways thereof. 20
