The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the close of night, 17 The rising dawn, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
Almighty God's Truth.
