The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do those not think that they shall be raised up 4 on a fateful Day. 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin. 7 And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 10 Those who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 for, none gives the lie to it but such as are wont to transgress against all that is [and are] immersed in sin: 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 No indeed! The truth is that their hearts have become rusted on account of their evil deeds. 14 Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord. 15 Then verily they will be roasted into the Scorch. 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 (It is) a marked Book, 20 Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given pure wine to drink, which is kept preserved, sealed. 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah. 28 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery); 30 and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting, 31 and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" 32 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. 33 But on the Day [of Judgment,] they who had attained to faith will [be able to] laugh at the [erstwhile] deniers of the truth: 34 while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). 35 Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 36
