The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
