And recount to them the story of Abraham: 69 when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" 70 They replied, "We worship idols and shall continue to worship them". 71 He asked: "Do they hear you when you call them 72 Do they help or harm you?" 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 He said: "Do ye then see whom ye have been worshipping,- 75 you and those ancient forebears of yours? 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. 82 My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous. 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 besides God? Will the idols help you? Can they help themselves?" 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 And the soldiers of Iblees, all together. 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 Nor a true friend; 101 Would that we had a second chance [in life,] so that we could be among the believers!" 102 Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. 103 Verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 104
