The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man. 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
