▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay! By the moon 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 it is a warning to man, 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 who will be in Paradise 40 About the criminals, 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
