Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
