Say: "Who guards you from Ar-Rahman by night and by day?" Yet from a mention of their Lord they turn away. 42 Have they gods who defend them beside Us? They are not able to succour themselves, and against Us they cannot be kept company with. 43 Nay, We have allowed these [sinners] - as [We allowed] their forebears - to enjoy the good things of life for a great length of time: but then - have they never yet seen how We visit the earth [with Our punishment,] gradually depriving it of all that is best thereon? Can they, then, [hope to] be the winners? 44 Say: 'I warn you only by the Revelation' But the deaf hear nothing when they are warned. 45 If but a breath of the Wrath of thy Lord do touch them, they will then say, "Woe to us! we did wrong indeed!" 46 And We shall set up the scales of justice on the Day of Resurrection – therefore no soul will be wronged in the least; and if a thing is equal to a grain of mustard seed, We will bring it; and We are Sufficient to (take) account. 47 We gave Moses and Aaron the criterion of right and wrong and a light and reminder for the righteous, 48 Those who fear their Lord in their most secret thoughts, and who hold the Hour (of Judgment) in awe. 49 And this is a blessed reminder that We have sent down. Will you then deny it? 50
